A few weeks ago I shared a free printable of a moving day checklist. Moving home is considered to be one of the most stressful things to do in life. It makes sense to be as organised as you can where possible. The actual moving day is one thing but what about all the things you have to do before and afterwards?! One such task that might see your blood pressure rise is letting everyone know about your change of address. There are so many people and companies to remember.

As soon as I found out we would be moving, I started making a list of all the things I received via the post. I sorted out all of our paper work before moving and this helped me to build on the list with the intention of not forgetting  anyone. Today I am sharing that list with you in the hope that you might find it useful too!

So here is a checklist of who you may need to contact with your change of address.

Meet The Maker: Sally McGowan From Duckdora

You may remember a while ago, I told you about a beautiful Amalfi dinner set that I have from Duckydora. I absolutely love the Duckydora collection and I couldn't wait to invite Sally McGowan, one of the ladies behind the business, to take part in Meet The Maker!

Making Home Link Up #23: Making a Lampshade With Wallpaper

Ok confession time. We are in excess of bare bulbs in our house. That is to say that we have not really focused on putting lampshades up. In our home office we just popped up an old Ikea paper shade and a while back I shared how to make a lampshade using fabric. This is probably why we have no shades up. The creative side of me has already decided I need to make them all but of course time is lacking. Recently however I did make a lampshade using superhero wallpaper for the Little Bs.

Craft Hobby for Men - Star Wars R2-D2 Metal Model Kit from Qwerkity

At the start of the year, I told you that I would start to make time for myself again to get back to crafting and learn new skills. I am not a big fan of new years resolutions but I did need to make a change. I didn't have a time set aside to just indulge in something or learn something new. You may remember that this prompted me to start Crafty Bs online. A group of like minded crafters come together via social media every Tuesday night and share their projects and help each other along the way.

Starting a new hobby, especially learning a new craft can be extremely therapeutic and is a great way to relax and focus the mind on something else away from everyday stresses. There is a huge misconception though that crafting is solely a 'female' hobby. Admittedly, a higher percentage of women craft than men but thats not to say its not a great way for males to switch off too!

Qwerkity have a great range of gifts for men and Hubby B couldn't wait to have a go at building a Star Wars metal model! If that doesn't sell it to the man in your life, what would?!

Just a quick update from me this week. As those of you who follow me on social media will know, this week I celebrated a 'big' birthday and so I have been a bit unprepared with all the celebrations going on ;-) I did however do a bit of shopping this week again! We made an impulse buy of a lovely mirror and a photo frame for our utility/downstairs toilet as well as some paint samples and a roll of wallpaper. On a whim! So not something I would normally do. The picture frame is for some photos that Hubby B took on our holidays and this particular space is going to be nautical themed. I will post some pictures of all of our goodies very soon and I am so excited to get this project underway.

Hoping you will join in with #MakingHome this week. With it being the week of my birthday I would love to see a few posts on handmade gifts, maybe cake recipes or party themes. All other posts welcome too of course! Here's a contribution from me; a treasure chest made from a loaf of bread for a pirate themed birthday party!

Making Home Link Up #21: Spring Craft Projects

Spring is on the way for sure. Can you feel it? I can feel a new motivation brewing and spring craft projects are the cutest. On the agenda this weekend is an easter bonnet and a 'happy hat' for Baby B's class assembly. I have also been DIY shopping to get me started on a few projects on the coming weekends. Some metallic paints and decoupage papers made their way into my basket to experiment with decorating jars because....well why not? I also finally purchased some paint for the walls that is washable online the paint that was used when the house was built to allow it to 'dry' out. White walls + two little B's. Argh.

I am looking forward to getting some more crafting time in over the next few weeks. You may have seen the Crafty Bs online craft group that we started recently which has helped me to dedicate a chunk of time to JUST crafting and chatting with like mined people. Come and check it out if you haven't already.
