Upcycled Denim Bag

Remember back when I started Crafting a Daydream, I told you about a denim bag I made out of one of my mums old skirts when I was younger? Well here's Sam to tell you about a much better version made by her daughter this summer.

Hi, I'm Sam and I'm so pleased to be popping over to meet you all here at Mrs Crafty B's.

I blog over at http://patternpiper.com, mainly about my crochet makes and general family related ramblings. I'm pretty new to blogging but love it and the blogging community already – you're all so welcoming and friendly!

I have two kids, Missy, who is 10 and Matey, who is 8 and today I thought I'd share Missy's latest crafty project with you.

Now I have to confess that I wasn't involved in this crafty make. Unfortunately, I had to work the day that this masterpiece was took shape, but my lovely Mother-In-Law supervised and Missy took all of the photographs herself.

The make was inspired by this great book, MAKE IT by Jane Bull and published by Dorling Kindersley.
It's full of great, really easy to follow, recycling projects. It came in a set of three from my Aunty Teresa who sent them to Missy to congratulate her on being made Head Girl at school – so proud!

So, Missy looked through the book and picked this project for her crafty afternoon at Nanny's house. She took an old pair of jeans and some pretty ribbons

Chopped off the legs and stitched up the holes

Used one of the legs to make a handle
She added a little pouch to the inside and embellished the bag with a bow and some buttons and TA-DAH – Missy's Upcycled Denim Bag...
She did all of the cutting and stitching herself and is so proud of her little bag – definitely one of a kind I reckon....I might get her to make one for me!

Thanks Mrs Crafty B for letting me share Missy's craftiness with your readers. If you've enjoyed this post do pop over and say hi!

This is not a paid review of MAKE IT by Jane Bull, the opinions are my own.
