Maisie Parrish is one of my inspirations. In 2010, I did a sugarcraft course and we used one of Maisie’s designs from her book, Fun and Original Children’s Cakes.
My finished work does not do Maisie’s justice and it isn't exactly the same but I had a good go and was very proud of my first attempt.
I had never tried sugarcraft before and since, I have made flowers and iced cakes and become a little more creative. I have been pretty much self taught since my beginners short course, but I have Maisie to thank for inspiring me.
I love to browse Maisie’s books (and lots of others!) and I am currently on the look out for further inspiration as I plan to make Baby B a very special 1st birthday cake! Watch this space.
